From the start Vista has been a slow and fat resource hog that has not been accepted as well as Microsoft would like.

In the IT / Technology world most everyone is striving to make thing faster and better; as you will see in this article by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes of ZDNet explains Windows 7 looks very promising.

Couple of High points in the test:

  • Faster boot times 
  • Better performance in 3 out of the 4 benchmarks he did.  

He does state that this is a prebeta and performance could change, but he also says that compared to the vista beta, this is much better.
